The Purpose of Life...But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ ... I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. -Philippians 3:7-11

the "cadillac" of apples

Right off the bat lemme just say that the thought of having my life as an open book on the internet was never all that appealing to me. Add that to the fact that life has been busy with the first year plus some of marriage, the business of running and opening new restaurants, serving at church, wedding after wedding and just general laziness and you've got one disinclined little boy to do anything besides watching TV and playing with his Wii. So you might be wondering what could possibly be important enough to end my six month hiatus from posting on xanga? Well just read on then...

I don't know if its just me but the Honeycrisp Apple seems to be everywhere now. Its the hot new produce on the scene and everyone is raving about it. It was developed by researchers at the University of Minnesota in the 60's and just now they're hitting the markets. If you've read the articles about them then you'll hear them described as amazingly juicy, unsurpassed in crispness, and retain this peak readiness for at least 8 MONTHS after its been picked. Karen first told me about them when we saw them at Sam's Club a few weeks ago. Now, I'm not a huge apple fan but they were selling them in a package that cost over $1.15 PER apple and yet they were almost sold out. Seeing as I always want to be in on the hot new trends, I convinced her that we should try some before they were sold out.

I don't know if you guys out there remember the Fuji apples a few years back when they first hit the US. This was before they started growing them in the US and they had to import them from Japan. Now, having spent a month in Japan for missions I can say that they have THE MOST EXPENSIVE FRUIT IN THE WORLD (I may not have been to literally everywhere in the world but its hard to imagine anywhere else where the average price of a single honeydew is US $20 or where they can sell a normal sized watermelon for over $100). I'm reluctant to say that the fruit is worth the price but it is amazingly good. Anyways, I'm digressing. My whole point is that those huge Fuji apples that used to come directly from Japan are 10 times better than these Honeycrisps in my opinion. Everyone says that these Honeycrisps are their favorite apples ever but that's just crazy talk me thinks. They truly are the most consistently juicy and crisp apples out there but they're also consistently too tart for me. Plus they give me a stomach ache.

Sorry if you got suckered into reading this.

Let's get some people fired!!

http://www.ocanational.org/petition.html

This is about a radio show making a crank call to a Chinese restaurant. If Imus can be fired for a single stupid phrase (which you hear black people use all the time in popular media anyways) then how much more should these DJ's be punished for a whole six minute segment. I definitely think all this is blown way out of proportion but I'm just sick of how people like Al Sharpton can make such a big deal out of something so stupid against black people and ONLY black people. My pet peeve is double standards...

Let's try this again...

Wedding Party

Artsy-fartsy Picture

The fruits of five months of dance lessons

NSCCC representation

This was the only Purdue picture I could find. Do any of you Purdue people have more pics?

Aerial view of Bora Bora

Obviously honeymoon shots

Karen kissing a stingray only two weeks after Steve Irwin was killed by one!

Swimming in the open sea with wild sharks!

Yeah, you know how you're supposed to have milky white skin if you're a Chinese girl, especially if you're going to
wear traditional Chinese garb? Knowing that, don't wear a chi-pow after spending ten days in Tahiti.

Currently Watching
One Night With the King
By Tiffany Dupont, Luke Goss, John Noble, Omar Sharif, John Rhys-Davies
see related
Its not what you're thinking!! Despite the questionable name of the movie I'm "Currently Watching", I'm not recommending a dirty movie. This is actually a pretty well done movie from Fox Faith films (division of Fox) about Queen Esther from, um, the book of Esther in the Bible. Granted, its not gonna win any Oscars but it was recently released and it was very well done and entertaining. Definitely recommended!

And now... (drum roll please)
THE MUCH ANTICIPATED PICTURES
FROM THE
WEDDING AND HONEYMOON!!

  • Yes, its been over six months since we got married.
  • Yes, its been at least that long since I've promised to get the pictures up.
  • Yes, I've been working non-stop these past two weeks trying to get my ftp site to properly display the photos so that I could link them into my xanga.
  • Yes, I just found out yesterday that you can now upload your pictures onto xanga for free just so you wouldn't have to mess with linking pictures.
  • Yes, I feel extremely stupid for wasting all that time and effort through this whole ordeal. So now onto the freakin' pictures...
